Feenstra Leads Bird by 22% in Hypothetical Matchup
(Hull, IA) – Today, Feenstra for Governor released the findings of a statewide republican primary survey that shows a 42% to 20% lead for Congressman Randy Feenstra over Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird.
Since launching his exploratory committee, Feenstra has increased his lead over the past month to 22-points. This includes a 17-point lead among Trump Movement voters and a 33-point lead among seniors.
“While we are still over a year out from the primary, Feenstra is the clear frontrunner in the race to become Iowa’s next Governor. Randy stood with President Trump to secure the border, ban China from buying Iowa farmland, and pass the President’s Big Beautiful Bill” said Randall Gutermuth, whose company American Viewpoint conducted the survey.
More importantly, Feenstra’s ballot share increases among voters who have an opinion of both potential candidates, leading Bird 49% to 28%. In addition, among those voters who have seen, read or heard something regarding Feenstra, he leads 66% to 20% over Bird.
In the republican primary vote-rich 4th Congressional District, Feenstra leads by a whopping 60-16% margin.
Interviews for the survey were conducted via live interviews May 28-29, 2025 amongst likely Republican primary voters in Iowa. The margin of error for the full sample (n=600) is +/- 4.0% at the 95% confidence level. The margin of error among sub-groups is greater.
